Wine Lab is a privately-owned business located in the heart of Amsterdam. Founder Jody Pollara has dedicated her personal and professional life to the world of wine. Originally from Baltimore, Jody earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management with a minor in Business from the University of Delaware. Around 2014, Jody decided to embark on a new endeavor – becoming a certified wine expert! She dived right into her wine education with the Wines and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) and subsequently decided to pursue wine as a full-time career. 

Jody completed the WSET Diploma in 2018 and has dedicated much of her time to expanding her wine knowledge. Subsequent to completing the Diploma, Jody became a Certified Wine Educator through the WSET and a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators (SWE). She has worked at wineries in France and Italy and traveled to many European and North American wine regions where she continues to learn about wine directly from winemakers and other industry professionals. 

Wine Lab is Jody’s project aimed at sharing her passion for wine with the world. The study of wine encompasses a wide variety of disciplines: history, geography, agriculture, culinary arts, business, and more! Wine Lab is committed to providing top quality wine education, whether in a casual tasting or a certification course, to professionals as well as those who just love wine. Wine Lab offers a fun and interactive learning environment to facilitate learning, teambuilding, or simply having a good time at a public or private Wine Lab event.

Since then she has chosen to commit her life to sharing her knowledge and passion with others. Jody and her family relocated to the Netherlands in 2013, proudly opening Wine Lab Amsterdam in 2021.
